Historically, our payroll support services have been unparalleled. We have helped process the biweekly payroll for the Department of Veterans Affairs’ 300,000 plus employees for 35 years without ever missing a pay day. We were the largest civilian payroll provider supporting one of the most complex pay groups - Title 38 employees (civilian doctor and nurses.) We believe you’ll find no other Government entity that compares to the FSC’s Payroll Support Service. Our experience has not only made us unique, but also the payroll provider of choice.
In support of the Payroll Modernization initiative, the Payroll Support Division includes the Local Payroll Customer Support Service which serves as the Customer Service Representative (CSR) for the Department of Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS), and Payroll Support Service (formally known as Nationwide Payroll) that transitioned into a Payroll Tier 1 Service Desk to support all of the VA CSRs.
The Local Payroll Customer Support Service currently provides local payroll services to approximately 10,000 VA employees including those in the Austin area, VACO, OI&T stations, and all of NCA. Our local payroll services include processing employees’ payroll documents, monitoring timecard processing/receipt, maintaining data tables of timekeepers and certifying officials for timecard processing, providing timekeeper training, reviewing payroll reports and initiating corrective actions, and serving as the liaison with DFAS to research/resolve employee pay issues.
Our experience with providing local payroll services to geographically separated employees led the VA Payroll Modernization Team to select FSC to provide Tier 1 Service Desk support VA-wide. The Service Desk, Payroll Support Service, is staffed with highly trained and knowledgeable payroll Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) that will handle any questions you may have. We will provide timely responses to your questions on payroll related questions such as employee pay history, workers’ compensation, TSP, W-2 corrections, etc. The Service Desk also supports VA with research and technical analysis on payroll issues such as aged military leave claims and class action lawsuits.
Consolidating your local payroll services benefits you by standardizing payroll processes and provides staff savings through economies of scale in technician and supervisory resources, as well as facilitating the implementation of new payroll processes and leveraging our DFAS relationship in resolving employee pay problems. The recent OI&T and NCA migrations to the FSC have led to improved customer satisfaction because of our staff’s knowledge and expertise. We can respond faster to their concerns because of our knowledge base and available research resources. Process changes can also be implemented more efficiently through consolidated activities and employees receive consistent pay related information eliminating confusion and pay errors.
Put our experience and reliability to work for you and your employees.
